All shops are full of  them these days... Christmas decorations [love][love][love]. Oh, how I love them. So, it is hard for me not to buy anything when I tumble into lifestyle shops. I always walk out with a couple of small must-haves - even though I have no idea where I will put them. I do not need anything, I have no spare room for more. Anyhow, here is my latest loot. Two little birds with great feathers, three old-fashioned looking X-mas balls for the kitchen (their color matches the color of my wallpaper), and lonely Rudolf. I have a pair of gorgeous ice skates too, now hanging outside my front door, but they refused to have their picture taken.

Do you fall prey to the Christmas decoration frenzy too? Please say yes and share. I have not put up my Christmas tree yet. Have not bought any presents either. They can wait.

Those are pretty. This year, in-fact yesterday, I said we need new decorations for the tree. In the past I've been very careful of the cats and had decorations that can't break if they play with them, but they've never bothered. So I think it's time.

When the girls were little, they would pick out a new decoration each year, it was one of the things that we did. Jacqueline was not quite three years old, and she chose a 101 Dalmatians ornament. Then (she was in her stroller) we went into Hallmark for cards (a card store with stuff) and there was a Tigger ornament. I said no, she already had. I'm sure she put up a fuss, but I stuck to my guns. As we were leaving the mall, in the stroller was the ornament. My daughter was a kleptomaniac!

I thought it was so funny that I kept it. I contacted the store, and the next time I was in, I paid for it. I made a point to do this because A/ I'm not a thief, and B/ What kind of story would it make if it was dishonest? We still have the ornament today. And Jac still loves Tigger.

Another fun thing we did was make ornaments out of light bulbs. We went to Michaels, got hair, eyes, etc, and made these great ornaments. I still have those two, Also, when the girls were born, and special ones for Allan.

I do love ornaments Martine! I never realized it until now. And Yes, I am going to get more.

I also used to buy break proof stuff - and I still do, but it is no longer necessary. Dogs usually do not jump into Christmas trees, do they? LOL.

How nice that you guys made your own ornaments. I am sure they look great!

I've kept mine up year round the past few years, LOL. Just some sparkly  pretties draped  on the living room fireplace mantlepiece decorating it  and some glittery stuff and angels on a table in the den. Didn't keep the tiny miniature tree up all the time. Well, maybe one or two of them.  Time flies by so fast now that seems like every time I turn around, it's Christmas time again, but that's a good part of time speeding up, I think.  Christmas coming round again so quickly. The main thing I like about Christmas, besides all the pretty decorations and colors, and there's some beautiful music, is a lot of people being moved to help others less fortunate. Not everyone's so greedy for material things.

No doubt the decs and tree will be down from the loft in the next week or so.  I hold out as long as I can before getting the tree done.  Two weeks before Christmas is plenty for me, but I'm so busy this December it may have to be 3 or more weeks.  They are down again the day after Boxing Day as I've had enough of it by then.  I will miss my stairs in my lounge this year as I used it to hang fairly lights and Christmas cards on them.  Now I have nowhere to put them.  I don't even have stairs now that I'm in a bungalow.  Oh well, will just have to figure out something else.

I do admit though, once I have the tree finished I like the festive look in and around the house.  But that passes quickly lol
