Martine --"Is Nicole Kidman there every year? She was wearing a spectacular dress, just a pity she is so skinny."

This made me laugh.  Tis a pity I'm not as skinny as she is.  I used to be.  Not now!

Jane Fonda is another one who is too skinny.  She apparently rarely eats.  But she looks fabulous at 80!

And God said "let there be light".
Then General Electric pushed him out of the way and the era of Corporate America was born to rule the universe.

The above is what kept Nicole Kidman in shape. None of the movies ring a bell.

I agree Jane Fonda is looking great. Never forget that they have make overs before they appear in public.

Oh yes, I have checked out which movie I could go to. The McDormand movie is available, but it started at 20:30 hrs, which was too late for me; I was afraid there would be other people in the theatre beside me - and I hate the sound of others eating popcorn. I have misophonia. My frontal lobe goes nuts when confronted with chewing sounds.
“Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring--it was peace.” Milan Kundera.
I watched a delayed and shortened version of the show. Ha!

It struck me that Jodie Foster looked tiny next to Jennifer Lawrence, who is 1,75 m according to the internet. Jodie is 55 years old, BTW. Ashley Judd also looked much taller than her colleagues on stage.

Jane Fonda and Helen Mirren were grand. Both of them looked like such graceful ladies. They truly deserved a standing ovation.

Oh, and what a beautiful art medium film is; it is the best, most miraculous thing on earth, in case you did not know yet. Those speeches were boring and sounded all the same to me. It seemed like most actors and actresses tried way too hard to deliver their lines without hesitation or emotion. The big exception was Frances. But that has been discussed everywhere already.

I am ignoring the males this year.

I didn't watch this year at all. Usually I like to see the dresses and hear the opening dialogue, but this year we skipped. We're really into Game of Thrones, 2 episodes/night. And Allan hates award shows so . . .

(I love Peter Dinklage, btw. What an inspiration. He refused to let his dwarfism stop him, and refused to take roles that were caricatures. He is excellent in GOT, my favorite character. I hope he doesn't get killed off, I would be very upset. George R.R. Martins is famous for killing off his characters)

Back to the awards (sorry to digress)

Will you look at Helen Mirren's gorgeous necklace and earrings? Wow!

Jane Fonda rarely eats? I wonder if that's just before award shows, when they also primp and preen and get all their botox and fake lashes, etc, etc?

I remember working out to her tapes. Then, years later, she said she never works out, anymore. Even the interview was surprised at that.

Both ladies look great (though I prefer Jane's hair softer around her face) but still, they look great. Classy, too

I prefer Jane's hair more like this:

And, while I'm on the subject, I prefer Nicole Kidman's hair darker, more like this:

Maybe I was a hairdresser in another life?
I do not know what I was in another life. Perhaps I was a cookie monster.

One thing I know. I did not like Nicole Kidman's hairdo during the show. She looked nicer in the car, when she was waving and chatting with the tourists.

Anyhow, I went to the movies yesterday: The Post at 5:15 pm. There were four people in the theatre, nobody was eating. Perfect. The Frances story played at 2:30 pm. Since I was doing my back exercises at the hospital then I went to see Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks handle The Pentagon Papers on International Women's Day. I was given a Ferrero Rocher to celebrate the event.

I liked the movie. Meryl is always doing a good job I guess. But I like Tom Hanks better. He comes across as more human. Meryl looks superior in a Streep sort of way. Anyway, what a bunch of liars politicians are. It is amazing how politicians get away with everything and how silly people are. Nothing ever changes in that department.

I went to see "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" today. It is drama mixed with a bit of black humor. It is so different from The Post. It weighs on me. The story is depressing. One thing leads to another, and it is never any good. The actors are  excellent.
