Hi Everyone. Just popping in to say hello and I hope everyone is OK.

This past couple of months I have ventured in to a scary and exciting world or bariatric surgery Gastric sleeve to be precise.   After many many years of yo yo dieting, joining NUMEROUS diet clubs, spending god knows how much money on them and many good friends trying to help me too(Haggisbasher being one very inspirational friend) well I failed them all ... for some reason I could never commit to a permanent weight loss plan so I decided a few months ago to look in to the surgery route.   It is with out a doubt not an easy option. The surgery was tougher than I expected. For some silly reason I thought the surgeons would do their thing and id be up and running about after a few days lol yeah I know very naïve of me.  Having said all that it was only tough really for the first 5 days... and every day gets easier.  Since the beginning of May 2017 I have lost 36lbs and I already feel so so much better. In a few months time ill post some before and after pictures
The procedure I have had done is not the answers to everything, you have to use the surgery as a tool and I will be looking in to some counselling too .. in case any of the addictive food thoughts come back to bite me on my arse ... I know they are waiting patiently in the back ground somewhere ready to try and trip me up but I'm determined .... watch this space [wink]

Jeez, Kasey! That is some news. I believe it is a difficult decision to make and I hope you will continue doing well. How much weight do you want to lose? And how do you stop, actually? I also have to get rid of a number of pounds again. I do not know how Helen keeps them off.  Anyway, keep going, girl.

I'm so impressed, Kasey! I hope you'll keep us updated on your progress. How many pounds would you like to lose, HulaGirl? I'd like to shed 50, but even 10 would be a great start.

Thanks Hula and Nicky.  Ohhh i need to loose a LOT of excess weight  Hula and Nicky  126lb (57kg) or for any English folk that's 9st So I need to loose more than I weighed when I was a young adult. Crazy. I cant believe I let myself go to this extent.  So I have 90 lbs to go.

It took me a few days to make my decision but once my mind was made up  I just researched researched researched.  For the first 8 to 10 months you physically cannot over eat but after that I'm not sure why but if you really want to you can each pretty much anything you want only in smaller quantities but if you choose the wrong foods example take out junk food or sweets and cakes then you will put weight back on as you don't need much of those types of food to gain weight due to them being highly  calorific.    One thing that keeps me on track is looking at the £8,000 bill that I am going to be paying off for the next five years. I feel confident but time will tell though.

Kasey,

Hi, what a brave person you are.  Since I'm picking up that this is a fun post, I will try to be fun.

I'm 127lbs.  If you work really hard, maybe you can make me disappear!

I really admire your drive to cherish your exterior self, your interior self and your spiritual self.  Of course, you didn't mention them, but your bravery, thru surgery says it all.

I look forward to hearing about your struggles.  You own your success.  Struggles are for the rest of us to reach out and lend a helping hand.  Consider my hand outstretched.

Go Kasey Go....I'mmmmm melting!!!
