I know people don't like to hear bragging, but my mind is so blown by the news about my oldest niece and her boyfriend, who is all of 21. She's 23. She's moving to a fabulous coastal resort area in Virginia and has a kindergarten teaching position lined up where she'll get paid a lot more. And will have a house very near the ocean--when I heard that, such incredible fear rushed through my being--this country is too dangerous for a young woman to live alone. I was informed she and her boyfriend (who just graduated from her alma mater and also has a great job already) will be living together ! Without benefit of matrimony. I never would have thought the couple's parents would go for this. Her boyfriend must have insisted he just can't live without her ! How romantic is that? He's just a baby, but apparently already knows she's "the one." They've been dating the past three years or so. She deserves all this--she graduated from a huge difficult university with great grades and her father (who could have afforded it) didn't help her with the costs, so she now has a big debt hanging. I think her boyfriend's parents with their connections helped her get the job, and helped them find a nice place to rent. Although they won't pay any of their bills, of course. I remember hearing his parents had a fit that time they thought the young couple would be staying at their beach house alone together for a weekend. And now this ! I'm so glad she won't be living by herself.
I used to post hundreds of pix of her, in here, some may recall.

Its very common place for youngsters to move in together before matrimony in the UK so I don't find that shocking what so ever but I appreciate other communities or families would.  My daughters boyfriend of 3 years regularly stays over in her bedroom with her at either my home or her dads as she does at his parents home but this only started once they were serious about each other. They will  be moving in together very soon too.
I am very happy for your niece Susy ... and I echo Nicky's words. Exciting times ahead.

Thank you so much, Nicky and Kasey. She's taught kindergarten in N.C. the past two years and was successful (asked to return to her post). Makes me laugh to think of her bossing around those little  rugrats. I hear she can be a bit bossy in general too, LOL. She did say she wants to marry and have babies eventually. (That might not be too far off !) Her boyfriend has light blonde hair, almost platinum and blue eyes. He's cute. He's an only child. He's only the second serious boyfriend she's had, she was very picky (LOL). That's how I know he probably treats her well.

Yes, Kasey, you with your Amy...it's remarkable to see them grow up into young adults who can live where they want, do pretty much what they want, and struggle to be self-sufficient and independent.  I could tell Kiley is more mature, because she didn't want to hide all her thoughts and be so guarded, would share more and listen more. Made me wanna weep with emotion. Course Amy always shared a lot with you, you're her mama. Doesn't it make you feel great to see them very much in love.
