Reply with quote | #1 | i read this true anecdote recently. carl perkins was visiting with paul and linda at one of their vacation homes about 7 months after lennon was killed. perkins wrote a song in his room late one night entitled 'my old friend.' one of the lines is 'i hope you'll remember me, my old friend'...perkins said it was unusual for him that he didn't write the song down as he always does, and he still was able to remember it. when he played it for the mccartneys next day, paul left the room, tears streaming down his face. linda explained the last time paul spoke to john on the phone, john used those words as they hung up. perkins thought john dictated the song to him as a special message to his old friend paul. i sort of think so too...you?
