People are driven by individual incentives, a sense of accomplishment, and work often provides this in people's lives. I actually enjoy hard work and feel great when I accomplish difficult tasks. Utopian society is not for everyone a lot of people thrive from competition or overcoming impossible odds. Life would be boring if there was no struggle or suffering. Many nations have failed from one size fits all policies that try and create a utopian society. There used to be a college experiment where students are given a group grade. The experiment always produces the same results. What happens is at first the high achievers put in an extra effort in and raise the overall grade. However the lesser achievers that lower the grade of people who put in more effort takes away the incentives to do better. As related to a film career such as Jeff's it would mean that every actor or actress should get paid exactly the same despite their talent or effort that they put into their work. There is a balance, people do need to take time off and reset themselves. "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy".

This is a very good point. My husband's background is Danish, and he says that their socialist society makes no one strive to do better. He knows people who have never worked a day in their lives - everyone is the same, which does not inspire one for anything. You are right, there must be a balance, but what people need in their lives (I think) is to feel passionate about what they're doing. It gives you reason to get up every morning, if you're lucky enough to love what you do.

That is kind of funny. A few years back NBC had a special about the Danish being the happiest people in the world. Their conclusion was because they had less expectations they were less likely to be dissatisfied. I don't think there's a happiest place that all depends on the individual. Different people have different interests that make them happy. It is always nice to make a job out of what is enjoyable most but for a lot of people work is just another four letter word.

Speaking of hard work how many new movies is Jeff in? He's everywhere it seems. Just saw previews for firefighter movie he is in that one also and even the commercial that came on before the preview. That's at least 3 movies that came out this year in a wide variety of genres. Amazing I know they were probably made over a year ago but that guy is not slowing down. Well better take a break from the Internet for a week or so got a heavy dose of comments in.

There's no limit [wink]  Good to see the board picking up again and getting busy.
