Lets get happy(er).  No trips to report of, or pics to post.  I have been trying to sort out the San Francisco and Nice snaps.  I have to admit, I still miss SF.  I think I have also left my heart there and am very keen to return to get it back    We have nothing major planned until September when we go to Marrakech then Malta in November.  But.  Yup here we go.  We are visiting Liverpool again in August for International Beatles Week.  Woooohooooooo.   Stopping off in Manchester on our way for a couple of days to visit family, then off to get some serious sore throat with much singing, dancing and (drinking hic).  So looking forward to it as we had a groovy and fab time last year.  Going with the same two couples again but have lots of things to plan.  We want to do the walking tour which covers all the places and gives us more time at each spot than the Magical Mystery Tour bus did, although that was a very good starting point.  We are getting all day passes for the Cavern Club which is just spine tingling.  That place is literally 24 hours of live music.  But Liverpool is a brilliant city and we are chuffed to be going back and seeing more of it, and of course singing all our favourite Beatles songs, yeah yeah yeah.

That aside I'm still busy busy busy with dad.  He's decided he doesn't want to do anything else for himself and demands more of my time and attention.  Stiff talking to's held regularly as he is not totally incapable and I'm not going to encourage him to stagnate.  I'm sure he sees me as 'the evil one'.  I talk back and disobey.  I do everything for him that needs to be done and help him with everything else.  He doesn't see it that way ha!  Boy it's true when they say roles are reversed as you go through life.

The girl is still working away with the little dears and putting in many hours.  A new boyfriend is in tow as well.  The previous got the heave ho and now she's all swoony over the newbie.  Needless to say, mum is trying hard to be enthusiastic about it lol  I can't really complain apart from her constant late nights.  She's in serious need of some decent sleep but hey she knows better eh?  But she's still getting on with her work and hopefully going in the right direction.

Hubby is likely to be getting another cataract op.  He had one eye done last year and it seems the other needs seeing to (pun intended).  He's not too worried about it and is looking forward to having perfect vision again.  He no longer needs to wear glasses (apart from reading) but feels the bad eye will benefit from getting done.  So he has an appointment on Friday and hopefully it wont be long after than until he has the procedure carried out.  It is not a big deal as it only took about 30 minutes and he was in and out of the hospital in a few hours.  Rather him than me.  The very thought of it makes me squirm.  I have been using contact lenses instead of wearing glasses.  That's bad enough (and makes hubby squirm when I'm putting them in/taking them out).  I like that I don't wear glasses anymore also but no sure how I'd manage to go through that op.  It's done using a local.  To be honest, they'd need a sledgehammer to get me in there.

Summer is here season wise.  We don't have it weather wise.  Well, we did have a very nice spell the other week but it went straight to autumn.  Supposed to be picking up again from tomorrow.  I'm a winter person.  I prefer the dark nights with drawn curtains, cosy heat and locked doors.  Don't like excessive heat (ha like that's going to happen here) and almost 24 hours of daylight.  Yup it gets dark around 11pm then starts getting light again just after 3am.  It ruins my night's sleep so I have taken to wearing eye masks.  Hubby was keen until he realised it was to help me sleep lol  Things starting to happen in the garden again.  Hubby is out there digging, planting and mowing.  I suppose I enjoy the fresh summer produce and no doubt I will be supplied with my freshly dug up tatties, tons of strawberries and blackberries and all the other goodies he produces.  I suppose summer has it's perks.  I'm no into gardening but do enjoy getting out the swings seats and parasols and watching him working away.  I do sometimes help picking.

So elections are upon us again.  I hate politics but dare I say that at least we don't have to have a Trump in our face being repulsive and offensive.  Mind you, having said that, we do have a Sturgeon who isn't many steps behind him.   I don't know who I pity more.  You for your pres or me for Scotlands Worst (sorry First) Minister.  We can pity each other maybe lol

OK, it's late and I'm prattling on again.  Hope everyone is tippity top and plodding along nicely.  Things her don't change much really and I wish I had things of interest to report.  But here's a few things to hopefully give you giggle.

San Francisco, to me, is like Marmite - love it or hate it. I don't think I could live there (although I used to want to) but I do love it and miss being able to visit more easily. I'm hoping we'll go there this summer to visit family.

Liverpool, eh? Have you ever met Scouser (as in Johanscouse)? I have friends who live there, too, but I don't think I've ever been. It looks fun and beautiful. When Jeff was in London for Tron he wanted to nip up to Liverpool for an afternoon to see his mother's birthplace. Someone talked him out of it because he didn't really have time but I wonder whether he's managed to go since then.

There is absolutely NO WAY I could get my eyes operated on, either... but I would love to have great vision again. Aging... ugh... but better than the alternative, I guess. I admire your husband's courage.

I love the idea of long summer evenings but I do like to sleep in the dark. Do you stay up later when it's light outside? I do, but always regret it. I think I'm a morning person, but Joe and Jack are both definitely night owls.

Yeah... elections... politics... hmmm...

Your first joke made me snort, your second made Jack snort. Thanks! [biggrin]

It's interesting and fun as always, Helen, I'll re-read it again later when have more time, and respond more in depth. First thing that occurs, sure hope your hubby's eye op goes well, I believe it will. That's an extremely delicate area to be operated on so I understand yours and Nicky's comments. Health worries can be hell--cause my mother died of ovarian cancer, every time I get a twinge or pain there I worry and wonder if it's the Big C, but one can't get a cat scan or ultra sound every time that happens...if I'm gonna get that disease, seems like it would be much later on, around the same age she contracted it. Sorry didn't mean to make this about me. Something I wonder about Dundee since reading a peculiar novel based there--it can't really be as weird as that novel depicted it, LOL, the novel was creative writing and very imaginative. That's probably why the place came off like it did. As pretty odd, LOL !
Helen, weren't you born in London? But now obviously consider yourself a Scot (?).
Does your daughter still live with y'all? If so you can keep a sharp eye on her better--hope you've had "the talk" w/ her about the boys. If that's not getting too personal.

As much as I loved visiting San Francisco I'd not live there. I'm not a big city girl but as cities go, it has a lot going for it. There is definitely a feeling about the place that I liked. I dont necessarily stay up later in summer, just seem to get less sleep 🙁
