Hey Roy,

Thanks for this. I've passed it onto Allan, and we'll be finding the interview to watch. I appreciate your thinking of me.

We've seen Rush a few times, and although I'm not particularly a fan of the music, I must say the show was very entertaining. They had a great visual, and Geddy Lee wore a t-shirt with his two yorkies on it, so cute. I don't think they'll be touring again, though. I think they consider themselves retired.

Geddy Lee grew up near Toronto and played the high schools before us (he's older than me). He went to my sister-in-law's friend's high school. Apparently a very nice guy.

I'm not really a fan of Rush either Michele.  I can appreciate their musicianship an musicality, though.  But when it comes to Toronto music, I'm more of a Neil Young fanatic.

We both LOVE Neil Young.  LOVE him. I saw him years and years ago, when I wasn't really into his music, and unfortunately, our friends said he was a little off that night. Not friendly with the crowd, which (as I've come to learn) is so not like him. Since then (this was maybe in the 80s) I've become a HUGE fan.

Allan loved The Band, CCR, Rush (of course)  . . . Neil Young. He's more into classic rock. And I am still a hardcore U2 fan. My husband has come to countless U2 concerts with me (and he said they put on a great show!) so the least I could do was go see Rush with him. Twice. And we would more if they came more (or ever came again, which is doubtful). Oh, and Martine will be happy to know we both like Van Morrison.

Who else do you like, Roy? Who are you favourites?

Right now I've got in the CD changer (old school) in the car:

Jimmy Vaughan Trio
Muddy Waters 1947-1964
Les Primitifs di Futur: Suivi de Bluestory & The New Blue
John Prine: For Better or Worse
Delbert McClinton: Prick of the Litter
Bob Livingston: Up The Flatland Stairs

As far as the classics, I listen to Los Lobos a lot! Also, Steely Dan, Buffalo Springfield and Leo Kottke. Also, Michael Fracasso, who is kind of regional guy out of Austin, TX. And there's this young regional guy John Fullbright who is not bad.

Peter Asher is supposed to play a small venue here in January. I'm hoping to score some tickets.!

I love Muddy Waters and have a lot of his music.

Do you like Long John Baldry? I do. And Jonie Mitchel? I like her a lot too (also CAD  and played with Neil Young before he left for California in the 60s.

Peter Asher, from Peter, Paul & Mary --- that same Peter Asher? And wasn't it his sister, Jane, who was engaged to Paul McCartney?

For Christmas you should ask for an i-pod, then you can have a lot of your music with you. I never go anywhere without it. Or, if you are really keeping up with things, you have it all on your phone. (I am not keeping up, though, and don't care).

Hope you get your tickets, Roy!
