  Some interesting headlines seen recently

Super Tuesday another one, a mini-super Tues. Primaries in Four States tommorow including big ones in Texas and Ohio. Hillary seems like a dynamic fireball compared to smooth talking Obama. He subtly tries to peg her as a typical highstrung indecisive female, doesn't come right out and say it but you can tell what he's getting at. Michelle Obama is rather imposing, maybe a bit too forceful and insistent but it's okay if it's her. Hills can't get much of a break. I'm growing more detached from the election, cause what I want to happen never does. These are just some ramblings off the top of my head

  Dirty-Mouthed Actresses Take Over T.V.

           by Celia Rivenbark

Diane Keaton started it. Dropped the F-bomb word right on "Good Morning America" just as Aunt Sudavee was biting into her first slice of raisin toast with Promise spread. The ever-quirky Keaton, in her ubiquitous white trouser suit, just couldn't help herself.  Midway through a fluffy little plug for her latest movie, Keaton got caught up in some sort of fake lesbian girl-crush rant about the beauty of Diane Sawyer's lips and let slip the effenheimer. Oops. Her bad.
A couple of weeks later, just when Aunt Sudavee thought it was safe to return to morning t.v., there was Jane Fonda dropping a bomb of her own. The Big Scary Worst One that Women Never Use. The "C" word.
Unlike Sawyer, who giggled and threatened to make Keaton eat soap, "Today" show host Meredith Viera returned from a hasty commercial break with a stiffly worded apology that somehow made it all worse. Jeeze. I haven't seen anything like that since Oprah took James Frey to the metaphorical woodshed for a beatin' for lying to her about his book being nonfiction.
Fonda shouldn't have said it, but in her defense, the Word So Vile that I Can't Even Cheat and Rhyme Something With It, was the one word title of her role in the "Vagina Monologues." ...Most recently, Kathleen Turner, another famous older actress who is on a promotional tour for her new autobiography, had to be bleeped by the censors after she coquettishly asked a local tv interviewer, "Can I say ----- on t.v.?" Well, uh, no. See Keaton and Fonda above.
So what's with the aging movie star potty mouth syndrome? Maybe they're tired of talentless twits like Kim Kardasian getting to say all the nasty stuff.
People always say that one of the perks of getting older is that you can get away with (stuff), really push the (flippin') envelope. I guess that's why Queen Elizabeth and Barbara Bush can hardly open their mouths without resorting to  saying "F this" and "F that," constantly. What? You never noticed?
It's the same way you overlook the feebleminded. I'm thinking of poor motorcycle damaged Gary Busey as he inappropriately licked on Jennifer Garner at the Oscars. No worries, it's just Gary; he'll stop when he finally figures out she's not a Toaster Strudel.
So rage on dames. Nobody except Meredith and a few humor-impaired FCC types will be too hard on you. Well, and maybe Aunt Sudavee.

very interesting. i've not watched these shows to have actually seen what happened. maybe as one gets older, they care less about what others think and are more confident and don't worry about what the world thinks of them.

thanks Kyla, wise observation I think. Here's a few more attention grabbing headlines I saw on the p.c. today:

"Black Dogs Face Discrimination"
"My Life is Boring, So I Shall Make You Suffer"
"Paris Parades Fake Guru"

The last is about Paris Hilton who made a big show of going to the Bodhi Tree spiritual bookstore in L.A. accompanied by a "phony looking Swami" said the story, with very long hair and beard, long flowing robes, etc. who turned out to be an actor. They went around looking through holy books, bought a stack and took them to a fancy cafe where the "swami" told Paris to give her jewelry away to other customers. All this attracted a swarm of avid papparrazi  photogs snapping away.  Paris decided to be a good example and positive role model? But he wasn't a "real" guru. This was funny, I thought. She does have a sense of humor, evidenced in her music videos for her songs and in her old reality series  among other things. She went to Harvard recently to accept an "award" which was more like a put down, from their  campus humor magazine.

An amusing reality show is on VH1, they're trying to make a hit country singer out of Bobby Brown, Julious Iglesia Jr., Carnie Wilson, Dee Snider of "Twisted Sister" and the woman who played Marcia on "The Brady Bunch, or Diana DeGarmo who was no. 2 to Fantasia on American Idol one season. They're all living together in a snazzy Nashville house. Bobby Brown got real drunk and peed on the floor and "Marcia" stepped in it. Well, she's always sneaking into his bedroom...he's sexy, you can't blame her. Carnie said "that's so gross." Julios is very sexy. Dee Snider is funny. They're in competition who comes up with the best country song. They've been shown cleaning out horse stalls, cooking, grocery shopping, visiting sick children in hospitals and other wholesome innocent activities. The grand finale is Friday night on CMT, I think. Some Nashville residents were shown laughing and smirking. "I don't know what country music is gonna come to with those singing it," one cowboy hatted boy said.  I would have said almost anyone could be a country music star, there are so many of them.
