Hi everyone, hope you're all toddling along nicely.  I'm still up to my usual.  Looking after dad and the fam.

The girl is now fully qualified after her 2 years of training.  It was touch and go about employment as the nursery (kindergarten) she was working at didn't have a position for a qualified Practitioner so she was being let go and due to leave on Friday past.  Fortunately the owner has two premises and a position became available that she was offered just last week.  Phew.  It was getting close.  It's in another city 20 miles away but there is another Practitioner who lives just down the road who she is going to car share with.  So it's worked out OK.  Just a shame that with early starts and late finishes she's going to be experiencing very long days.  Hopefully they can get her back into the Dundee premises but she's relieved to be in gainful employment.  She enjoys the work but will miss her babies.  She's also glad to be on full pay rather than trainee so she's likely to start planning loads of stuff to spend her extra pennies on.  Doubt any will be coming my way lol

So we are back from our trips.  Liverpool was a blast.  I knew it would be.  We walked a lot.  I mean A LOT.   From our hotel to John's house via Penny Lane was long but worth it.  In fact it took us nearly 4 hours!  But hey it's all a good workout and the weather was perfect for it.  From John's house we then walked to Woolton Village where the church yard and church hall is where John and Paul first met.  That's also where Eleanor Rigby's grave is by the way.  Also found the grave of his Uncle George there (Mimi's husband).  The church hall were they met and where John was 'performing' at the 'fete' has a plaque and we were allowed to have a look inside but there were workmen in painting so it was just a head through the door but it was just a hall, nothing special.  We then walked back to John's house and caught the bus back to Lime Street, again via Penny Lane.  That took 45 minutes but we were grateful for a rest.  The rest of our week there was spent at the Cavern and looking around Liverpool, and visiting the Beatles and Liverpool Museums.  We had done the Magical Mystery Tour, ferry across the Mersey, Paul George Ringo and Brian's houses and Strawberry Fields last year so didn't feel the need to do them again.  I just had to return to John's home because he's always been my idol and I just seemed to gravitate to it.  We were there with friends and the evenings were spent singing and dancing in The Cavern or other places where bands were playing.  But with it being International Beatles Week, there's nothing but tribute bands and you really are spoilt for choice.  All in all, another brilliant and exhausting visit.

Great pics, Hag, almost makes me feel like I was there. Was this your first trip to Liverpool? I thought you had been there, before.

Congrats to The Girl.

Thanks for the pictures, Helen! And good luck to your daughter. The church is undergoing a makeover?

Gives chills how ancient some of the buildings look, so atmospheric and romantic. Feels like I was there! Thanks, they're all smashing pix. I dig seeing a statue of a woman (Cilla Black), there should be lots more of women. Always feel chills and thrills seeing those new ones of the Fabs. I know y'all been to Beatles Week before and it's cool you keep returning. Lucky duckies.  The lads were always city boys, weren't they, save for Paul and Linda's sojourn on his farm near Sussex, damn can't spell it LOL, near Rye I think, and there's a statue of Linda erected there, sitting on a bench. Really love seeing all these and hearing Robyn's news. I'm glad she found a full time position. I love to see young people work for and achieve their dreams.
