Knitting again with white yarn. The pattern is easy, but it will probably take me the rest of my life to finish it, because the yarn is so thin... I finished a blue striped sweater and a cardigan this past Winter. Anyway, I think I will join a knitting club so that I can get some advice when I want to make something more sophisticated.

Oh well, please take a good look at my post of 06/17, for below you see my version of "the pullover avec glissière". It is an as good as finished work in progress, albeit it one without glissière, without sleeves...[eek]. My advice: do not use that cotton, unless you are a knitting machine. The stuff is difficult to work with. How much time has it taken to produce plan B? At least three weeks. According to my mother it is the biggest crap she has ever seen. And if she says so, that is the way it is.

However, I will not allow myself to feel deterred by crap, which is why I have started knitting a real jacket now, one with sleeves but without glissière [idea]... Below below you find a picture of my current knitting activity. The yarn matches my limited skills [smiley-talk017]. Nothing will go wrong this time. Yeehaa!!!!!! [rofl][nono].

What are you up to?

It seems you are one for trying many things, Hula.

My Irish grandmother taught me how to knit when I was a young girl, but that was so very long ago that I don't remember how, which is just as well.  Neither one of us was very good at it.

My other grandmother was the truly crafty one.  She loved doing things like scrap books.  She also made rosary beads by the hundreds, perhaps thousands.
The nuns in town would send her beads.  Beads from anything they could find, so every rosary was unique.  This was many, many years ago, before the era of 'make your own jewelry' with store bought beads.  Then she would send the finished product back to the nuns who would hand them out to patients at the hospital.
I still have some of the rosaries.  My favorite is one that has beads shaped like UFO's in a fire engine red color.

I miss my grandmas.

I had knitting and crocheting lessons at school when I was extremely small, young and innocent. I have forgotten how to crochet. My grandmother on mother's side did not knit or crochet. She baked. I miss her too. My mother is crafty as you call it. I am just clumsy.

I try out various things because I am interested in many things. And if you do not try, you do not know.

I am currently knitting a summer sweater (model Summer 2015)

[16]

How about you?

Before I finish this one, I think I will knit another one, in bright yellow. This will enable me to cheer like a pro for my basketball team. They have just won the cup and now they have to focus on the championship [smiley-talk017].
