Legendary skeptic James Randi takes a fatal dose of homeopathic sleeping pills onstage, kicking off a searing 18-minute indictment of irrational beliefs. He throws out a challenge to the world's psychics: Prove what you do is real, and I'll give you a million dollars. (No takers yet.)

This talk was given in 2007, I believe. What do you think of all that supernatural stuff?

Wow, Martine, did this guy actually die onstage during his Ted talk???!! (I'm on the library p.c. without headphones right now.) There have been some incidents in my own life that were extraordinary and seemed supernatural but real, so from my own personal experience, I have to say "yes" and that I feel miracles are happening all the time. None less than Einstein said "either you believe everything is a miracle, or that nothing is." I opt for the former. Which isn't to claim I can always feel transported into other realms and all that, it's very rare. (Except dreaming while asleep isn't rare at all, and Deepack Chopra stated dreams are part of that other spiritual world which exists along with the material at the same time, it's interesting to read about.) More later.

Well Martine - He did take the fatal dose according to the rationale he said some people use.  So there is proof that people are nonsensical.
I think it explains a lot of stupid things people believe like "Trump".

Hey guys!
I found him very well spoken and educated.
However, when he opened the pill box, it had been opened before.
I am familiar with that brand of homeopathic meds and I know that by law, it has to have the silver
( or foil) protection cover that is a tight fit. It’s a childproof sealant that takes a puncture to open.
That being said, I have to wonder it they were sugar pills and if indeed all 32 pills were consumed by him.
The pills are of a delicate nature and also requires a cotton puff to avoid breakdown of the contents.
I wonder if anyone called him out on that, especially since he fooled us with the glasses and microphones.
He has a very legitimate cause of debunking all the people that swindle those that have lost loved ones.
I love TED Talks.

I am definitely a believer in the supernatural. Maybe it's just because I can't stand the thought that there could be nothing else, but I feel that there is a reason for things, for us being here, too.

I've thought so much about this since my mom passed. I've seen mediums that have said things they couldn't have known, had my mom not been there. A short while ago my mother's cousin, Richard, passed. I was at a psychic's. She said my mom was with her mother and happy. I said, "What about Richard" and my mom said (through the psychic) "That's my cousin."

And lots of other things, too.

What do youthink, Martine? (thought you could sneak off and not answer that one, did you? [tongue]

Pinkie, I love that you're so positive about stuff.
