Michele, I understand the urge to keep oneself private - even on this board.  I saw the pics you posted and you are a fantastic looking lady!

I use 'ali' on this board and sometimes also in real life.  On this board it is to keep my privacy from two of my evil sisters.  In real life it's so I don't have to deal with everyone saying my name wrong.

In the pic I posted up above that is my good sister with the glasses.  As soon as she got old enough she wore contacts so this is a rare picture of her in glasses.  She is the sister who is now suffering from ALS.  I posted the picture a few months ago of four of us siblings.  The two little boys on the end are my brothers in that picture taken last June.  They grew up to be the tallest of the bunch and my cousin Candy - well she never really grew much more than that and she is now the shortest of the bunch.
There is one more sister who is not in the pic.  She was a baby at the time.
My sister with als (the one with the glasses) is not doing well.  She cannot use any limbs at all.  She is on a feeding tube.  She is down to skin and bones.

btw-the cousins are Candy and Merle.  The rest are sibs.

I have an evil sister too (half-sister, I only have to claim half). My other half-sister does whatever the first one tells her, and I am close with my brother and his wife.

Thanks for the kind words, Ali. Yeah, posting pics of me feels a little strange. I rarely take selfies (don't think I have in fact). I take pics of everyone else, though.

So the sister with the straw hat and stripped shirt is evil? That's too bad, she looks like such a cute kid with a nice big smile. And the baby, that would be the other evil sibling?

My heart goes out to your sister with als, you've talked about her before. Seems so unfair.

So you know of what I speak, Michele.  The evil sisters.  Yes, the cute one, Gayle.  She once said to my good sister "I am smarter, I am taller, and I am prettier than you."
I said to the good sister "Did you tell her she is definitely taller?"
The good sister said that she did not answer the evil one.
And so it goes.  My evil sisters are wondering why the good sister had als for almost a year before anyone told them.
No one wants them around.

I'm sure we all have our family stories to tell.  Are you on facebook, Michele?

Friend me if you want.  With my original name.

Lol.

What a nasty thing for one sister to say to the other. My husband has often said, Families are a torture chamber. Certainly can be. I'll FB you, Ali.

I am sorry to hear about your sister with ALS, Ali. It is such a cruel disease. When did it start, if I may ask?

I only have one sister, and we get along well, but we are not extremely extremely close. At least, that is how I feel about it. We visit each other a couple of times per year. We do maintain regular contact through messenger and other social media. We also see each other at basketball games. My nephew also plays basketball, and sometimes I take pictures there; it has been a while now.
Unfortunately, families are a torture chamber. Mine is not any better. Are there so many arguments and disputes in families because people know each other better? No wonder then, there are so many wars.

We do not have many family pictures. I hardly have pictures of myself. My nephew, Nicolas, always manages to look away or pull faces. My niece is more willing to pose. My mother looks silly on almost every picture we have of her.

The active community here is small, but there are many people watching. So I guess it is understandable one is not too keen on posting personal photographs. The same applies to other social media. On FB I mainly post pictures of lost dogs, silly things, and an occasional personal item. My birthday is no longer public there, but I still wanted attention and posted something on Instagram! How silly of me!!!
