Well, I just remember how much you loved it, and you were very good at it, too. Sometimes hobbies come and go, though. I haven't picked up a paint brush for years, and I don't draw anymore, either. Not to say I won't again one day, but not now. Too busy with other things.

And Allan used to love sailing. He had a few boats and loved it. Then he gave it up and hasn't looked back. But you never know, Martine, one day you may pick up photography again, depending on what you're doing.

I checked out "La La Land" from the library, curious to finally find out if this movie is as amazing and wonderful as many claim. I don't feel all that enthused to watch it, though. I also got the movie starring Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander, in which they pretend a baby girl who washed up on shore is theirs, until the anguished mother appears.
About sailing--is that a thing with Scandinavians, LOL (the Vikings and all that) as my niece's boyfriend's family is crazy about sailing and often out on the ocean in their boat. I've seen pix of my niece fishing and holding up a baby shark that looked peculiar, like a cartoon shark. Bothered me some they didn't wear lifejackets. Maybe they weren't too far from the shore, but even so.

We saw LaLa Land, and I'm with you Pinkie. It was okay . . . but that's all, imo.

I watched the first 10 minutes of La La Land and didn't bother watching any more lol  I've just watched John Wick Chapter 2.  I liked the first one and this one is just as good, if you like hired assassin films.  Keanu Reeves his usual messy self.  He really should make more of an effort in the scrubbing up department lol

"Snatched" with Amy Shumer and Goldie Hawn is wryly amusing, dark humor in places (very dark). Pretty funny. I want to see "The Big Sick" about the cute guy from India falling for a North Carolina girl, "20th Century Women" with Annette Bening and Greta Gerwig, and maybe "The Girl On the Train" all on DVD. I'm too squeamish to see "It" but I'm glad it's a big hit, 'cause Stephen King is one of the many Donald Trump is feuding with, LOL. I'm terrified at the very thought of seeing "mother!" even with the good actors--Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer and Ed, having heard it's very creepy, bizarre and frightening. If anyone here sees that I'd love to hear what they think. The director wrote and directed "Black Swan" which I hear was very twisted and creepy, too. I'm so curious about "mother!" I might wind up going to see it, and probably regret it later, LOL.
